Whisker Warriors is a grassroots, volunteer-powered Manitoba organization serving the Interlake and Winnipeg areas. We focus on helping stray, abandoned, and injured cats by providing immediate care, safe shelter, and a chance at a forever home.

To reduce the suffering and overpopulation of cats through rescue efforts, accessible spay/neuter programs, and community education — supporting finders and owners to do what’s right.

What We Do
As a volunteer-run Manitoba cat rescue, our work focuses on reducing the suffering and overpopulation of cats through practical, community-driven solutions.

Taking in stray, abandoned, and injured cats, providing them with immediate care and safe foster homes.

Affordable programs to prevent overpopulation, ensuring long-term welfare for cats across Manitoba.

Guiding owners, finders, and neighbours with knowledge and resources to support responsible cat care.
🐈 Spay & Neuter Support
We don’t run full TNR programs but we can assist with the spay or neuter portion and guide you in the right direction for trapping resources.
Our Ambassador: Warrior
Survivor of the May 2025 Peguis area wildfires, this brave little soul was caught in the chaos — burned, frightened, and alone. A community member reached out to a longstanding local animal advocate who subsequently put out a request for rescue assistance with Manitoba Front Line Animal Rescue Network. One of our Whisker Warrior members met them in Arborg to transport Warrior to Pembina Vet, where she received emergency care. She was then transferred to the Winnipeg Humane Society for ongoing treatment and rehabilitation.
Thanks to the immediate response from community members, prompt veterinary care, and a whole lot of love, she began to heal — not just her burns, but her spirit too. Her resilience was nothing short of inspiring.
And the best part? Her story didn’t end there. Another one of our amazing members opened their heart and home, giving her the loving forever family she so deeply deserved.
Warrior is a petite young female with the most loving personality and soothing purrs. We are honoured to have her as our ambassador.

At Whisker Warriors, our mission as a Manitoba cat rescue goes beyond adoption and fostering. We work closely with local volunteers, veterinarians, and community members to create lasting solutions for cat welfare, ensuring every animal has the chance for a healthier and safer life.
